Red Sand - Arts Management

An annual celebration of the live music scene in York, established in 2000, York Live is a four-day festival featuring dozens of local acts in venues across the city.

For 2007 red sand managed the funding scheme run by City of York Council, offering funding to local musicians, venues and promoters to enable them to hold their own events as part of the festival programme. A total of 22 events featuring over 80 local acts were funded as part of the programme, featuring everything from experimental electronica and interactive digital performances through to bluegrass and heavy metal.

red sand acted as main point of contact for the scheme and offered guidance and support to successful applicants in the run up to the festival.

red sand also oversaw festival publicity and PR, working with designers to create a 16-page brochure featuring all of the festival events.
